I would say about two weeks ago, I was on karmaloop.com ( definitely check it out) browsing around and all I saw all over the website was Motel. I thinking to myself. What is this brand? Never heard of it. I click onto the name and that’s when cupid shot the arrow and I fell in love. Then I showed it to my fellow team blue member, and she fell in love too. Ohh love is in the air!  Known for their punk,retro, vintage inspired pieces, this bad ass British brand is so not into jumping on the bandwagon when it comes to trends. No, they’re too cool for that. They march to the beat of their own drum. Which I absolutely love. The whole collection consists of quirky dresses, vintage tees, knitwear, leggings, denim,skirts,shorts you name it! The fits are amazing, they compliment a woman’s shape. Top shop beware, you have competition! News of Motel is spreading like wildfire all over the globe. Currently they are found in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. Celebs like Duffy, Lily Allen, Peaches Geldof are huge fans of Motel. It’s so refreshing to see brands aside from us that love to do the opposite of what people are doing and go the extra mile.  Definitely check out motelrocks.com, this is one motel you won’t want to check out of!

Inspired by earth,wind,fire ( no i’m talking about the 70s band..lol) and air elements, Pamela wooed the audience with her tribal infused jewelery. Girls with cavewoman clad hair decked out in war paint modeled the show’s key pieces. Disc necklaces, stone necklaces,spiked cuffs, and jumbo star-shaped bracelets were among favorites. I wonder what she is going to come up with for fall? Stayed tuned I guess!

Ok, fine. I admit. Maybe I do have a fascination with heels. Very, very high heels. My favorite shoe designer of the day is Ruthie Davis. Sported by the likes of Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Katy Perry and Kim Kardashian, this innovative brand defies architectural structure and design. I mean helloooo, have you seen them?! My favorite, is the black with the studs on the heels. This is one stud that wont break my heart let me tell you

Those who know me best know that I have thick long hair. Naturally curly, but I always blow dry it straight but to my avail my hair is still thick. Rainy days aren’t my cup of tea whereas you will catch me running and dodging raindrops like if they were bullets. Humid days, ha! Don’t get me started. I’d rather stay home in the air conditioning. Now, what is this I see that frizzy hair is in as a new fashion trend? To me frizzy hair is alone my worst nightmare.

Marc Jacobs and Top Shop channeled disco days at Studio 54 by unveiling the vivacious, big  ’ fros that had lives of their own. This season its all about less glamour and going natural. Yea right, while everyone is walking around with their afros on rainy days, i’ll still be hiding from the rain.

This Spring prepare to turn heads with bright eyes and bold lips. So long smokey eyes, hello technicolor hues (like the pics posted)! Pucker up with reds,corals, and oranges. Warm up cheeks with a gold shimmer or opt for intense pink cheeks. Since I die for the color red, I have no problem rockin red lipstick. If you want the fresh off the runway look try this: bare skin, green eyeshadow and a lip gloss paler than the vampires on twilight and you’re good to go!

Ohhhh yeaaaa, funky prints for Spring yeaaaaaaaaa! I know, I know these looks are very unlikely for a Spring collection but expect the unexpected in fashion. Be on the lookout for busy prints in hues such as auburn, green, cornflower and hunter green.

Whoever said animal prints are out of style can go tell that to Anna Molinari’s face because she certainly didn’t think so this season. The head designer of Blumarine unveiled her inner animal through her clothing with animal motifs found on her fitted minidresses and tunics. Exotic, Gaudy and Sexy, Blumarine always seeks to amaze us every season.

Look up eclectic in the dictionary and you will see Etro’s Spring 2011 collection. This spring Veronica decides to step out of bounds a bit and add geometrics to her traditional paisleys and florals.  A fusion of colorblock hues, patterns intricately cut out into shirtdresses and separates ,and accessories? Give me one reason why Etro should not be sitting next to the name Eclectic in the dictionary.

Those who know Anna Sui’s work know that prints are always a huge part of her collection. Sui took inspiration from pioneer women and Joni Mitchell in the late 60s. She pretty much showed her obsession with artisanal work through her hand crocheted sweaters and waistcoats. I loved how her collection just felt so Warm and comfortable. Funny, I’ve never said anything like that about a designer’s collection!

Bollywood definitely made its appearance in the runways during Pucci’s show. Frocks embroidered in tiny mirrors and pompoms, and jersey tshirt tie dyed gowns, It was apparent he was influenced by India. “ Bohemian beachcomber luxe” is how the designer briefly described his collection. The first few dresses coincided with the traditional Greek shirt, with a scrolling blue design on ruffled white cotton for a white washed out feel.

Ever since I was 9 years old. I have always, always, always loved Versace. I don’t know how to explain it. I was just so drawn to Donatella’s work. Colors such as Mediterranean blue, orange, shades of red, combined in strong, summery stripes made a unyielding presence on the runway. Even down to the hair and makeup, Versace made sure that those elements were also reflected with the clothing. Which was also very strong. The look had a “I’ll kick your ass” appearance but who none other than Versace can pull that off.

The gala held a live preview of a special online charity auction featuring 21 of the world’s top designers that have created unique items exclusively for the WWD 100th Anniversary event. Proceeds from the auction will go to each designer’s charity of choice. An interesting fixture at the party was the water cooler filled with the wwd 100-proof vodka ( very clever, I must say).

Karen Elson also performed a marylin Monroe-esque rendition Of happy bday to the packed crowd.Throughout the night, Celebs shared their fondest memories of WWD. “My favorite moment is the moment it arrives in the morning”,Marc  Jacobs recalled. How ironic Marc, its my favorite moment too! Congrats to WWD, and here’s to many more years of putting smiles on people’s faces in the mornings!

Charlotte Olympia shoes? How do I summarize this?oh yea ..a la Rachel Zoe. BA-NA-NAS!

Love love love her shoes. Inspired by the glamour of the 40s and 50s, this half Brazlian, half English designer makes a statement with her color block sandals and sky high shoe boots. Measuring with a staggering 5.5 in heel and 3cm platform, these shoes will have you looking as tall as avatar .These shoes are so hot. I would wear them everywhere and never take them off.
